Go left if you want, but this train is on…

In the United States, it seems somehow as if we’ve lost our sense of direction. Since the 1960’s we’ve been adrift in a sea of mediocrity, having no sense of direction for the “home port” to which we might return, no tiller to choose our course. We’ve been blown about with every new idea that comes along. Our once high standards have been hijacked, kidnapped, ripped away from us by those to whom excelling is anathema and the American way of life should be subjugated to “Globalism”.

Now don’t get me wrong. We still live in the greatest, freest country in the world. It’s just that certain groups have attempted to destroy the very things that helped us to reach this status. These groups should be identified and called to task for the harm they’ve done to our values and heritage. This site will be an attempt on my part to do that, to identify our “home port”, and instill a tiller in those who — whether they realize it or not — need one.

To give a perspective of what these writings will be about, I’d like to lay a brief foundation of my basic beliefs — the “home port”, if you will.

  • There is a God. Just one. He’s the Creator of everything, and his name is Jehovah, amongst others. The only way to get to Him is to go through his son Jesus.
  • This nation was founded as a Christian nation, and on Christian values. These values are as needed today as they were over 200 years ago.
  • Rules are good things, in that they allow us a place to “plant our feet”. Yes, sometimes they need to be changed, but until they are, they’re still the rules. They should be broken only after the greatest contemplation of the consequences. This is a foundational tenet of Conservatism.
  • There is a right and wrong, right and wrong can be easily discerned, and these values are, for the most part, absolute. Complementary to this idea is the rejection of “moral relativism”.
  • The United States of America is the world leader. No country in the history of mankind has had more power at its command and used it more circumspectly and more for the benefit of others than the U.S.A. We have both a moral right and a moral obligation to stand firm in our values and in our beliefs.
  • There is a balance of power set up by our Constitution. It says, basically, that Congress makes the laws, the Supreme Court interprets the laws, and the Executive Branch enforces the laws. When one branch of our government intrudes on another’s duties, it is a Constitutional Violation.

Let the journey begin.
