Comments on this site are not moderated. Please follow these simple rules if you wish to comment:
- The First Amendment protects my right to say what I want to on this blog. Your ability to comment is a courtesy extended by me, not a right protected by the government. If you accuse me of editing or deleting your comment in violation of your First Amendment rights, you’ll be stripped naked, painted blue, and hung upside down from the next signal light we approach. Don’t do it.
- Registration is encouraged. No one but me has access to the registration list. I don’t spam, and I don’t ever sell my registration list. Because of this, I have blacklisted “Mailinator” e-mail addresses.
- Agree or disagree, but act as if you’re a guest in my house. If you don’t, you’ll be shown the door.
- Overuse of profanity won’t do anything but show that you really don’t have an argument, or are too stupid to make it intelligently. As is noted elsewhere in this blog, I’m not real big on stupidity. The occasional mild profanity might be allowed, but drop any F-bombs or other strong words and your comment and you will be tied to the tracks and run over by my speeding locomotive.
- The key concept here involves courtesy. If you understand the meaning and proper application of that word, I’m sure we’ll get along just fine.
I reserve the right to edit or delete comments. If you use a word I’d rather you not use and I deem that usage innocuous or accidental I’ll edit your comment and let it slide. In these cases you’ll usually see a note from [Admin] explaining what was done, more or less. If I decide that your comment is worthy of complete banishment, you’ll probably be banished right along with it.
If you decide to e-mail me rather than use the Comments, please be aware that I reserve the right to publish your e-mail in its entirety. You can ask that your e-mail be kept private, but it’s absolutely 100% up to me whether I’ll honor that request. (FYI, I’m more likely to honor your request for non-publication and/or anonymity if you’re respectful in your e-mail.) If you decide to take the “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead” approach, you should understand that I’m still walking out my Chrisitanity on a daily basis, and sometimes I get in the flesh and do things I’d rather not do. I struggle with this, but I’m not always successful in overcoming it. Forewarned is forearmed.
Finally, I issue trackback pings in every post in which I reference another blog. I would appreciate the same courtesy, whether or not you agree with me. Some things should transcend political, social, and religious boundaries, don’t you think?
