Thanks to a tip from a friend, I found out that the RFD network, a cable channel, is showing old Hee Haw reruns. That same friend informed me that Sonny James and the Southern Gentlemen appeared on somewhere around the fourth episode of that long-running show, and as luck would have it, my brother gets the RFD network. Well, to make a long story short, I’ve got a couple of videos you might be interested in: Sonny and the guys singing “Another You” and “Mean Old Mississippi”. Most of the YouTube clips I’ve seen are older, made in the 1950s when Sonny was just getting started. The two below were recorded in 1969, “Another You” was the second in Sonny’s record 16 consecutive #1 hits.
