I’ve been wondering how long it would take to get a strong reaction from someone — anyone — regarding the illegal immigration situation.

I thought it might happen in the Spring of 2006, when illegal aliens blatantly thumbed their noses at our nation’s laws and citizens, but it didn’t.

I hoped for a definitive moment as other events unfolded later in the year, but it never happened.

I was somewhat mollified when we managed to defeat the shamnesty bills proposed by our President-turned-traitor Bush, but that merely postponed things without resolving anything.

Enter Jim Broussard.

Broussard is a veteran. He’s also a take-charge kind of guy. He knows exactly what he wants, he knows right from wrong, and he’s not afraid to do right, God Bless him!

According to WorldNet Daily:

After hearing a Reno bar was flying a Mexican flag above a U.S. flag, an angered U.S. Army veteran took matters into his own hands, drove to the site and cut down the banners in front of a stunned group of Hispanic patrons.

As the article notes, flying the flag of another country above the Stars and Stripes is illegal according to 4 USC Sec. 7 (c):

No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof: Provided, That nothing in this section shall make unlawful the continuance of the practice heretofore followed of displaying the flag of the United Nations in a position of superior prominence or honor, and other national flags in positions of equal prominence or honor, with that of the flag of the United States at the headquarters of the United Nations. What motivated Broussard to do such a brave, patriotic thing? He first heard about it on talk radio, then:

“I was immediately infuriated and felt a duty to do something about it,” Broussard said. “I feel there’s a lot of this turning-our-heads-on-things in concern with the Hispanic community and the things they do. They seem impervious to our laws in a lot of situations.”

The man’s got a point. Some time back, I was told by a uniformed police officer in my hometown that getting three tickets at once will get your car impounded and your rear carted off to the hoosegow. I was also told that they’ve been instructed not to write Hispanics three tickets.

So, for instance, if a car driven by an Hispanic was speeding and caught on radar, then ran a stop sign, drove on the wrong side of the road while attempting to elude pursuit, then had a head-on collision with you and your family coming down the other side of the road, Mr. Hispanic ain’t gonna be showing up for his court date, because he’s not going to jail. And well, he’s not sticking around to see what the judge is gonna say, now is he?

It’s my hope that we’ll see more incidents like this in our country. Righteous indignation at the blatant flaunting of our laws by illegal immigrants can only demonstrate to our elected officials the strength of resentment against the illegal Hispanics among us.
