I’m one of those people who just simply don’t believe that global warming is man-made. If you do believe it, it’s most likely because you’ve only seen the arguments for mad-made global warming (MMGW), and not those arguments against it. No person possessed of even moderate brainpower can possibly believe in the fallacy of MMGW.
Maybe I’ve simply got a head start in the healthy-dose-of-skepticism department, but in my 53 years, I’ve been told that:
- DDT caused cancer in humans and would result in a “Silent Spring” because of its effects on birds (scientists have since found no harmful effects on humans, and the Springs are pretty noisy in my part of the country, Ms. Carson)
- Our population would explode to the point that the earth could no longer produce the resources to sustain us (we have more per-capita resources available to a population that has more than doubled since 1961)
- Aerosols were a leading cause of harm to the environment (they’ve since been found to have a cooling effect on the environment, reducing the warming effect of CO2)
- The world would stop spinning, planes would fall from the sky, nuclear-tipped missiles would automatically launch themselves, and mankind would find that the sky had indeed fallen and hit Chicken Little on the head, all because of a pheonmenon known as Y2K (I still have a gallon of water labeled “Y2K Water” in my pantry)
And now we’re supposed to believe that scientists have gotten it right? Poppycock!
Read the article referenced by the link below, and see what you think. If you’re not a total environmental Kool-Aid drinker, you’ll see the lies that have been perpetrated to keep you from seeing the logic of the truth.
Now read the “Testimony of David Barton in the June 7, 2007 U. S. Senate Hearing on Global Warming in the Environment and Public Works Committee”.
