Well, it’s official. Hillary Clinton does not believe in capitalism and the system of free enterprise. According to AP, she wants shared prosperity — i.e., Socialism:
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it’s time to replace an “on your own” society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.
The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an “ownership society” really is an “on your own” society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.
“I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”
Now let’s be clear about this — when good old Hil talks about “shared responsibility and prosperity”, what she really means is “your responsibility and the government’s prosperity”. Unless you’re poor according to her definition that is, in which case you’d have absolutely no responsibility and no prosperity.
Note how she parses her words: “I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans.” She’s talking about the government running things and collectivism. She thinks that this idea would be just dandy, seeing how well the government manages the border and Social in-Security. Bearing witness to this view is the unfortunate incident of hubby Bill’s and other political allies attempts to suppress Hillary’s senior thesis while at Wellesley College, about none other than Saul Alinsky, a radical community organizer. According to reports, this attempt at supression was made because her allies thought the thesis might contain evidence that she held radical or Socialist views… umm hmmmmmm.
Let’s define terms though, just to make sure that we’re all on the same page. Socialism is basically a theory which advocates collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods and services.
Now maybe it’s just me, but I happen to think that I can get along just fine without a “herd mentality”, which is what Socialism requires. The idea behind Socialism is to keep people from preying on one another, and insure that everyone obtains an equal share of the collective bounty. The problem with that is, people are individuals. They were created that way, they think that way, and nothing short of complete frontal lobotomy on mankind will ever change that. Some are innovative and hard-working, others are shiftless and lazy. Given these two indisputable facts, those who are innovative and hard-working will always have money, and those who are shiftless and lazy will always have a hard time hanging onto any money they have.
I don’t know what it is about Liberals that they think that they can make certain concepts work which have been proven failures in every instance in which they’ve been tried – such as Socialism. Back last year when the illegal immigrants were pitching their little fits I went to one of the gatherings and found some socialists and their literature. I engaged them in conversation, and asked them if they could name one single place where socialism had produced the type of society that their literature so glowingly describes.
Their response: “Hey, man, we don’t want to argue with you.”
My response to their response: “You’re too darn right you don’t.”
When Jesus Christ himself makes a declaration, I will pay attention to it. And when He says “The poor will be with you always”, I will believe him — mostly because He said it and that’s good enough for me, but partly because of my ISTJ nature which asks “Have you ever been told of a society that didn’t have poor people in it?” and the resultant answer (”No.”).
So if you think things are screwed up in America now, if you think that there’s too much government intervention in things that don’t need intervening in, and most of all if you are like me and want to hang on to your own money and find creative new ways to increase your lot in life, just remember that you have virtually no chance of that happening — if Hillary gets elected.
