Sheehan arrested in Capitol galleryFox News just flashed on their Fox News Alert that Cindy Sheehan has been arrested by the Capitol Police. More info as it becomes available.

8:05 Fox News now reports that she was not arrested, but detained when she attempted to unroll a banner while in the gallery.

Earlier news sources stated that Bay Area Congresswoman Lynn Woosley had provided Sheehan with a gallery pass. Furthermore:

A spokesman for Sheehan says she decided to accept the invitation two hours prior to the speech. The spokesman also said that Sheehan will be respectful and listen to the address because she is a guest of a member of congress.

That promise evaporated like a wisp of smoke in a high wind, didn’t it?

8:18 Breitbart has more:

Police escorted Sheehan from the visitors’ gallery above the House chamber after causing a disruption, said a Capitol Police official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because details of the incident were sketchy.

9:45 Breitbart has updated their story:

Sheehan, who was invited to attend the speech by Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., was charged with demonstrating in the Capitol building, said Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider. The charge was later changed to unlawful conduct, Schneider said. Both charges are misdemeanors.

Sheehan was taken in handcuffs from the Capitol to police headquarters a few blocks away. Her case was processed as Bush spoke.

Schneider said Sheehan had worn a T-shirt with an anti-war slogan to the speech and covered it up until she took her seat. Police warned her that such displays were not allowed, but she did not respond, the spokeswoman said.

Police handcuffed Sheehan and removed her from the gallery before Bush arrived. Sheehan was to be released on her own recognizance, Schneider said.

Libs, let me say it as plainly as I can say it: This kind of crap shows you for the fools you are, and if you keep it up you will continue to lose elections.

OK, I’ve said my piece. Now do what you want to do. But I will say “I told you so” when the time comes.
