At the top of my list for this Friday Round-Up is the latest article by Tony Snow. READ IT! A partial quote:
Faith matters. Prayers heal. Love overcomes.
People want to do good for others; they just need excuses.
Fear is a waste of time. The worst that can happen is that we’ll die — which happens to everybody, anyway. Until the Grim Reaper comes knocking, we’re alive.
We can count our hardships, but not our blessings.
Life does not revolve around us. It envelops us.
There is no condition that someone else has not already overcome.
Here are a few more goodies:
- If you want to see the thought of our Founding Fathers on the U.S. Constitution, read The Federalist Papers. All of them were written by my good buddy, Publius Rendezvous. Oh, wait, different guy.
- Believe it or not, I used to love reading my Golden Encyclopedia as a kid. Imagine, then, how thrilled I was to find Wikipedia, the online free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. A treasure trove of information about anything and everything. Look up your favorite entertainer! [NOTE: How did you learn to spell encyclopedia? Jiminy Cricket taught me. Remember him on the Mickey Mouse Club? E-N-C-Y-C-L-O-P-E-D-I-A!]
- ThoseShirts.com has some great t-shirts. My favorites are “Celebrate Diversity”, “Fun Facts About Liberals” (”Liberals are against nuclear weapons, but have yet to suggest a soy-based substitute that can obliterate cities”), and “Fun Facts About the French” (They like to sell weapons to enemies of America. But come on — what kind of pansies use French weapons?”).
- Do you like jigsaw puzzles? Try this one on for size.
- Man, you talk about the many and varied uses of the Internet. Pay phones from around the world
And Sonny, I hope you make it in your lifetime. Thanks for the music.
