A lot has been said about the John Roberts/NARAL ad in the blogosphere. Among them are:

My wife worked (and still works) one block up and one block over from the abortion clinic bombed by Eric Rudolph in Birmingham, Alabama. I drive by that clinic every day I take my wife to work (we both work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, UAB). I remember driving through the area the night of the bombing or the next night — we were stopped by a policeman and asked to turn around because we took our customary trip through the alleys where they had neglected to erect crime scene tape. That abortion clinic is still in business — the exact same business that Eric Rudolph was in, death.

Make no mistake, abortion is not about choice, it’s about money. If it were about choice, abortion clinics would not fight against disclosing the psychological risks women face after abortion. If it were about choice, they wouldn’t mind presenting alternatives to abortion, or even offering alternatives to abortion (see JustFacts.com, they have an excellent document about abortion. It includes some facts about the psychological side of things, too.)

Emily Lyons, the nurse who survived the Abortion Clinic bombing by Eric Rudolph in Birmingham, Alabama was a prominent part of the ads. It’s my understanding that she’s been rather high-profile in the media since the aborted birth of the NARAL ad, too. Why? Because she’s the Liberal Poster Child of Abortion. She stood up for a woman’s right to kill an unborn child, and she won’t see anything come between a woman and that woman’s right to kill her unborn child.

I do not condone what Eric Rudolph did. He killed a pro-life off-duty police officer that day, too. Robert Sanderson was there as security for the clinic. When was the last time you heard of a liberal defending a conservative’s right to believe and act as they wish?

I’m glad that Rudolph has faced our criminal justice system and will be punished for his acts. I just wish that Emily Lyons could be punished for hers.
